- Hope Hook & Ladder Company No. 2 1875-1882 ( Disbanded in 1882 )
- Protection Fire Company No. 3 1878-1916 ( Became Engine 2 of the paid department and was assigned to Fire Station No. 2 )
- Juvenile Hook & Ladder Company No. 4: 1880-?? ( Disbanded as members joined other companies )
- East Austin Fire Company No. 4 1886-1916 ( Became Engine 5 of the paid department and was assigned to Fire Station No. 5 )
